Faith & Resilience against Digital Hate: Webinar on 2 December 2026 – Registration Open

Save the date: Bridging Beliefs webinar "Faith & Resilience against Digital Hate", 2 December 2026, 10:30–12:00 CET, with the logos of the EU, ALDA and the project partners

En Wednesday, 2 December 2026, from 10:30 to 12:00 CET, join Bridging Beliefs’ 1st webinar on online hate speech and misinformation, organised by ALDA. The Bridging Beliefs project seeks to foster dialogue between different faiths and convictions in order to strengthen democracy in the European Union.

This webinar centres on online hate speech that targets faith communities. In the current climate of societal polarisation and religious intolerance and prejudice, Bridging Beliefs aims to enhance structured interreligious and interconvictional dialogue to build more inclusive and democratic societies.

Online spaces have become essential stages for our democracies, where public discourse and opinion develop. However, they have also brought about the proliferation of hate speech and misinformation, with religion being a commonly targeted topic. Bridging Beliefs’ first webinar will focus on identifying hate speech, understanding the phenomenon, and most of all: building digital resilience, interfaith solidarity, and cross-community responses to hate. It will include awareness-raising, capacity building, and knowledge exchange for better interreligious dialogue and cooperation.

Combining experts and participant interaction, we will learn to identify hate speech and build resilient responses across different faith communities.

The webinar will feature both expert insight and participant interaction, with guest speakers and leading religious representatives, and interactive and collaborative activities. Crucially, it will involve associations and participants from across nine European countries and various religions and faiths in order to build a toolkit of interfaith resilience and responses against misinformation.

Confirmed speakers so far:

  • Francesca Capoccia, journalist, editor and fact-checker at Facta, specialised in online misinformation
  • Dr Arije Antinori, coordinator of the CRI.ME LAB for Criminology, Sociology of Deviance and Media Studies at Sapienza University of Rome

We will build upon the findings of the past International Conference in Milan, Italy, the Capacity Building Event in Vicenza, Italy, and the local workshops in participant countries.
