Inter-Religious & Inter-Convictional Dialogue
(CIRICD & NIRIC)

Council of Europe

The EBU has had participatory status in the Conférence des organisations internationales non gouvernementales (OING) au Conseil de l'Europe since 2008, where it contributes to interfaith dialogue and the work of other CINGO committees such as those on human rights and gender equality.

In 2021 the EBU helped initiate the Committee for Interreligious and Interconvictional Dialogue (CIRICD), along with other faith-based INGOs.

The main purpose of CIRICD is to establish a permanent platform for inter-religious and inter-convictional dialogue within the Council of Europe and its 46 member states, by creating opportunities for co-operation between faith groups, institutions and governmental bodies.

Pour y parvenir, le Comité a établi le Network for Inter-Religious & Inter-Convictional Dialogue and Initiatives (NIRIC-Dialogue) to highlight and bring together new and existing European civil society initiatives in the field of interfaith dialogue, and to promote practical examples.
