The German Buddhist Union (Deutsche Buddhistische Union, DBU), founded in 1955 as the German Buddhist Society, is the national umbrella organization for Buddhist associations in Germany. Based in Munich, it represents around 67 member groups and several thousand individual members, promoting dialogue across Buddhist traditions and engaging in interfaith activities. The DBU publishes the magazine Buddhismus Aktuell and advocates for an authentic, contemporary Buddhism in Germany. It is a founding member of the European Buddhist Union and part of the World Fellowship of Buddhists.
