aspect-ratio:0.9894825410180901;width:267px;height:auto\" srcset=\"https:\/\/europeanbuddhistunion.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/CleanShot-2026-05-12-at-11.57.45@2x.avif 752w, https:\/\/europeanbuddhistunion.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/CleanShot-2026-05-12-at-11.57.45@2x-297x300.avif 297w, https:\/\/europeanbuddhistunion.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/CleanShot-2026-05-12-at-11.57.45@2x-12x12.avif 12w\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center wp-block-paragraph\">EBU Liaison officer in Brussels: <br>Carlo Luyckx<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-uagb-container uagb-layout-grid uagb-block-5926498c alignfull uagb-is-root-container\"><div class=\"uagb-container-inner-blocks-wrap\">\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The EBU in Brussels<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The EBU aims to strengthen the work at EU level in Brussels and has signed up the common&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/ec.europa.eu\/transparencyregister\/public\/consultation\/displaylobbyist.do?id=173532529975-58\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">transparency register<\/a>&nbsp;of the European Parliament and the European Commission.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">EBU-representatives are regularly invited to conferences and high-level meetings in the frame of the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.europarl.europa.eu\/at-your-service\/en\/be-heard\/religious-and-non-confessional-dialogue\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Article 17 TFEU dialogue<\/a>&nbsp;with churches, religious associations and philosophical and non-confessional organisations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The focus of EBU-activities lies on:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/commission.europa.eu\/strategy-and-policy\/priorities-2019-2024\/european-green-deal_en\">The European Green Deal<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/europeanbuddhistunion.org\/www.sasce.eu\">SASCE<\/a>&nbsp;Internal Security Fund, protection of places of worship<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Promotion and protection of freedom of religion or belief<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u041f\u0440\u0430\u0432\u0430 \u0447\u0435\u043b\u043e\u0432\u0435\u043a\u0430<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Education<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Animal welfare<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The EBU has been granted participatory status in the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.coe.int\/en\/web\/ingo\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Conference of INGOs (CINGO) at the Council of Europe<\/a>&nbsp;in Strasbourg in 2008. Since then, a team of EBU-Delegates has been an active partner in various committees and working groups.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">On the initiative of the EBU and other faith-based NGOs, the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.coe.int\/en\/web\/ingo\/interreligious-and-interconvictional-dialogue\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Committee for Interreligious and Interconvictional Dialogue (CIRICD)<\/a>&nbsp;has been adopted by the Conference of INGOs. It aims the creation of a permanent platform for dialogue between representatives of religions and non-confessional NGOs in the Council of Europe<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group is-nowrap is-layout-flex wp-container-core-group-is-layout-7387b849 wp-block-group-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-uagb-container uagb-layout-grid uagb-block-6362996c alignfull uagb-is-root-container\"><div class=\"uagb-container-inner-blocks-wrap\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-uagb-image uagb-block-beeded98 wp-block-uagb-image--layout-default wp-block-uagb-image--effect-static wp-block-uagb-image--align-none\"><figure class=\"wp-block-uagb-image__figure\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/europeanbuddhistunion.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/GF-TM-CoE-752x1024.avif\" alt=\"\" class=\"uag-image-4618\" width=\"940\" height=\"1280\" title=\"GF &amp; TM - CoE\" loading=\"lazy\" role=\"img\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center wp-block-paragraph\">EBU Representatives in Strasbourg:<br>Gabriela Frey + Thea Mohr<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-uagb-container uagb-layout-grid uagb-block-58fb30bf alignfull uagb-is-root-container\"><div class=\"uagb-container-inner-blocks-wrap\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>The EBU at the Council of Europe in Strasbourg<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The EBU was granted participatory status in the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.coe.int\/en\/web\/ingo\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Conference of International Non-Governmental Organisations (CINGO) at the Council of Europe<\/a>&nbsp; in Strasbourg in 2008. A team of EBU representatives has been active in various committees such as Human Rights, Education, Gender Equality.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">At the initiative of the EBU and a range of other faith-based NGOs, the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.coe.int\/en\/web\/ingo\/interreligious-and-interconvictional-dialogue\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Committee for Interreligious and Interconvictional Dialogue (CIRICD)<\/a>&nbsp; has been formally put in place. The aim is to establish a permanent platform for interreligious and interconvictional dialogue within the Council of Europe. By creating spaces for practical cooperation between citizens of different faiths, institutions and government bodies, dialogue becomes a tool for strengthening democracy and preventing social divisions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">To achieve this, the Committee established the <strong>NIRIC-Dialogue network (NIRIC = Network for Interreligious &amp; Interconvictional Dialogue) <\/strong>in 2021. <a href=\"https:\/\/niric-dialogue.eu\/\">https:\/\/niric-dialogue.eu\/<\/a>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The aim is to showcase European civil society initiatives promoting interreligious and interconvictional dialogue, to identify existing projects, to bring them together within a network, and to highlight inspiring experiences.
