Network for Inter-Religious & Inter-Convictional Dialogue (NIRIC)

Council of Europe

The EBU has had participatory status in the Conference of International Non-Governmental Organisations (CINGO) at the Council of Europe since 2008.

In 2021 the EBU helped initiate the Committee for Interreligious and Interconvictional Dialogue (CIRICD), along with other faith-based INGOs.

The main purpose of CIRICD is to establish a permanent platform for inter-religious and inter-convictional dialogue within the Council of Europe and its 46 member states, by creating opportunities for co-operation between faith groups, institutions and governmental bodies.

To achieve this, the Committee has established the NIRIC-Dialogue (Network for Inter-Religious & Inter-Convictional Dialogue and Initiatives) to highlight and bring together new and existing European civil society initiatives in the field of interfaith dialogue, and to promote practical examples.
