The Inner Way’ (‘La Via Interiore’) is an Italian documentary about the first Buddhist meditation course in an Italian prison, led by Italian Zen priest Dario Doshin Girolami, who has taught meditation to inmates in Rome’s largest prison of Rome for the last eight years. Images, words, sounds and silences accompany Dario’s narration, his questions to the inmates, their answers, and their accounts of past and present experiences and their expectations; for some a future forever within prison walls but, thanks to meditation, no longer unbearable.
