- amplify the voice of Buddhism in Europe and
- develop and maintain meaningful and fruitful relationships with Buddhists in other parts of the world.
Values
Affirming the potential of all people for wisdom and compassion, we seek to act with non-violence, kindness and responsibility, following the example of the Buddha. We support the democratic values of human rights, including equality and inclusion for all, regardless of background or identity.

We wish to
- provide a Buddhist voice in European social, political and cultural discussion
- work closely with European institutions, to strengthen communication with European and international organisations and policy-makers
- promote education, research and public dialogue about Buddhism
- promote dialogue among Buddhist traditions as well as with other religions and philosophies
- support EBU member organisations to develop in areas such as chaplaincy and environmental awareness and their capacity to address allegations of ethical misconduct within their own organisations.
- foster partnerships to promote human rights, equality and the welfare of all beings.
Where we become aware of allegations of ethical misconduct, within the EBU or within an EBU member organisation, the EBU Ethics committee will respond, where appropriate, in accordance with the EBU Code of Ethics.
