Types of membership
Full membership (with voting rights) is open to Buddhist organisations and national Buddhist unions operating in Europe, subject to our membership criteria.

Associate membership (non-voting) is open to Buddhist organisations which are active in Europe, but do not necessarily fulfil all our membership criteria.

Supporting membership (non-voting) is available to individuals or organisations anywhere, whether Buddhist or not, who are committed to supporting the EBU.
There is no joining process or fee but we invite you to make a regular donation and sign up to receive the EBU Newsletter.
Your membership will enable you to
- join in and support our projects.
- develop relationships with fellow Buddhists in other Buddhist traditions
- become part of a European Buddhist network of spiritual friends, united by a shared commitment to the Buddha’s teachings and creating a better world.
Your membership will enable the EBU to
- develop and maintain conditions which support the practice of the Buddha’s teachings in Europe.
- ensure a Buddhist voice is heard in the work of European political institutions in Brussels and Strasbourg, to support the presence of Buddhism in all countries in Europe.
